Adapalene and benzoyl peroxide safety summary
This gel combines a topical retinoid with benzoyl peroxide to treat acne with blackheads, papules and pustules.

What it's used for
- Use only as prescribed on the affected skin.
- Follow the treatment plan and review schedule your doctor gives you.
Most common side effects
- Dryness, redness, scaling, burning or irritation.
- Temporary worsening during the first weeks of treatment.
Serious side effects: stop and seek care
- Facial or eyelid swelling, throat tightness or difficulty breathing.
- Blistering, burns or severe persistent irritation.
Who should not use it
- Pregnancy or trying to conceive.
- Allergy to adapalene, benzoyl peroxide or any ingredient in the gel.
Interactions to flag
- Do not combine with another retinoid or benzoyl-peroxide product.
- Limit sunlight and UV exposure; separate irritating cosmetics from treatment.
